Unchanged Files are Replicating

If you have a situation where files that have not changed are replicating,  check that your system hardware clocks are within 8 seconds of each other.  It is good policy to have all servers sync to the same NTP server.  On some machines with time drift it may be necessary to install a third party (some are freeware) utility to keep your clocks in sync.

This problem sometimes also manifests as continuous replication of files, or a job that never ends.

If this is not the problem or it has been corrected and you still have replication of unchanged files,  then take the following steps.

Please set the following feature in the \FileReplicationPro\etc\s2s.properties  file on each machine.

Use a plain text editor to open the file and insert the following line at the end of the file, then save it and restart the FRP.... Services on each machine.

s2s.file_mod_threshold=2

The value above can be increased further if need be to get the result you need but after a value of about 6 it will have an impact on the speed of your realtime replication jobs (if any) that are scheduled.

To restart the management server launch the services in this order:

On a MAC open a terminal change to /Applications/FileReplicatonPro
and use the command syntax "sudo systemstarter start FRPRep" etc.

Do not attempt to start FRP services on a MAC by any other means!

Be sure to only start the Help and Mgmt services on you one and only
management server,  all other servers must have only FRPRep running.

FRPRep
FRPHelp
FRPMgmt

For the Replication Servers launch only the FRPRep service.
