Problem:

FRP transfers the link target file rather then creating a link at the destination.

Solution:

Starting with FRP version 4.0.028 (release December 16, 2004), FRP supports replication of symbolic links for Solaris and Linux. Support for additional Unix platforms is planned for next release.

Prior to this release, FRP replicated the link's TARGET file or directory rather then creating a link entry in the destination folder.

A few notes about this feature:

(1) Supports a transfer of the symbolic link only. Hard link replication is planned for the next release.

(2) Supports symbolic links for files and directories. Regarding links to directories - it is recommended that you install FRP 4.0.029 or greater.

(3) This feature is disabled if one of the systems does not support symbolic links (e.g Windows). In this case FRP will transfer the target file/directory.

(4) If the link target file does not exist in the Destination, a dangling link will be created.

If you prefer to replicate the link target, you can disable the symbolic link replication feature by editing the file "s2s.properties" located in the /lib directory. Change the value of s2s.symlink to 'false'. You then need to restart the FRP services for the changes to take effect.
